Practice Session A Big Success

Big Practice Session Coming . . .

We are all busy comparing notes, recipes, and things we want to try for our upcoming big practice session this coming Saturday (Sept. 5). We will be joined by family and friends to sample our creations and party. Will post pictures, etc for all to see.

It's Official

We are officially registered for the sanctioned cook-off in Clarence, NY the last weekend of September. Stay tuned for practice updates . . .

Introduction

Joe Bentley has been cooking most of his life. From fish fries, chicken barbecues, to pulled pork and entire pig roasts many throughout Western New York have sampled his fine cuisine and keep coming back for more. In 2007 just for the fun of it one of his "piglets" decided that it would be an experience to enter a professional cooking competition just once and so Papa Joe and His Piglets came to be. Members of the team include Darla, Dawn, & Cindi -- three of Papa Joe's daughters.

Entering the Kansas City Sanctioned Barbecue Contest in Clarence, New York in 2007 gave us our first taste of competition cooking. We were hooked. We competed last year again and will compete again this year. Last year overall we came in 19th to better our scores from the previous year.
